How was my Good Friday, you ask?
Well, this morning I was accidentally hit in the head by the sword of Quintus Cassius, Roman centurion commanding the X Legion Fretensia.

No Joke.

Let me explain. This morning I went to an Easter passion play. It's held in a park, and you walk around with the actors to each scene. Here are just some of the locations-they used the river running through the park for Jesus' baptism in the river Jordan by John the Baptist. The temptation of Jesus takes place in a rocky area nearby, and for the last location, you have to walk up a hill to see Jesus being crucified next to the two thieves. There are songs throughout the play, including some of the popular hymns at school and it's acted out entirely by volunteers- the only member of the show they had to pay was the Donkey Jesus rode on on Palm Sunday. The donkey, by the way, refused to carry Jesus, so he must have had to walk all the way to Jerusalem.

There were loads of men dressed as Romans standing around. Some of them had speaking parts, but they were mostly there to be 'intimidating' [and funny] and to send the crowd the right way. During the Palm Sunday part, Quintus Cassius, the Centurion commanding yadayada, the highest ranking soldier there, walked through the crowd and his sword, thankfully still in its sheath, bonked me in the back of the head. It didn't hurt, but I think I went into shock , and the only thing I could say for several minutes after wards was "I just got violently assaulted by Quintus Cassius, Roman centurion commanding the X Legion Fretensia! What the hell is going on!"

*Sigh* I have problems. Strange, getting-hit-in-the-head-by-historical-character problems.

Anyway, Holy Saturday. At the end of Holy Saturday, I will be off Lent and will be able to eat chocolate. That's not to say that I will go on a huge, chocolate-gorging orgy. Right? I'm responsibubble. Right? *shifty eyes*
